Did some miner Megatron for Pre-War project awwwwyisss.

The most important thing here was getting him to be a stark contrast to the shape language used in characters like Proteus - sturdy, angular and weighed down by his function.

In a bit of a happy accident, he ended up having an undercoat of red, which I thought would be a neat way to get the red markings you see later on when he participates in gladiator games. Instead of painting them on, he could chisel off the surface coat into the patterns or symbols he wants.

Megs was formatted into what is essentially an ice-truck/plasma trencher kind of vehicle, with the idea that energon mining is more like industrialized ice cutting through striated glaciers at the poles. There’s more functions to it aside from just being built for a cold environment, but I’ll get to that when I clean up the sketches for it.

This was easily the most fun I’ve had on this project so far, and there’s definitely more to design for Megs’ whole character arc.
